NEWS

Outside a storm (Ada? Doris? Ena?) is raging. On TV, the international news is a daily horror show. Nearer to home, the government is… well, where do we start?

The New Year – that’s where we start. Personally, I find that the  best way to deal with times like these is to try to catch them in a little song. I’m writing away, and just now and then I find I’m quite pleased with what I’ve written. I hope to be back in the recording studio soon.

And the shows are rolling out. The first Shock of the Old of 2024 is in Dereham on 29th January, where I’m happy to say it has already sold out. After that we’ll be in Chelmsford on 2nd March.

In between those two dates, I’ll be at two of my favourite folk clubs – Watford Folk Club on 9th February and Hadleigh Folk Club on 1st March. After that, I head west for a performance of Oh God, Now What? at Appleton Village Hall, near Faringdon, on 9th March (Tickets available from Julie Hester on juliehester9@gmail.com or 07876 277394).

And I’ll be popping up in folk clubs, wherever they let me in, and writing new songs, in the hope that, if we all keep busy, we’ll somehow get through this year elections and storms.

Here’s to a great 2024 in spite of all the omens!

I’ll hope to see you at one of my shows.
