As a ‘mature’ composer and sad old bastard on a guitar, I really enjoyed this. Thanks; as I am my friends will say, it’s rather close to home. Great song.

Brilliant! I shall be stealing this (with due acknowledgement of course)to sing with my aging chums in The Deportees at our regular gig at Alexanders in Chester quicker than you can say ‘Stairlift to Heaven’

Hey Terence from one “sad old bastard” to another, I must say your great song struck a chord with me. Absolutely “fan bloody tastic”. As a 60+ bass player in an average band member age of 40 covers band here in NZ it gives me hope for many more yrs of playing.
    Cheers Trevor

    Hi Terence,

Great song. One of my guitar students sent me the link, and the song describes me and many of my students! Well done.

    All the best,

Many thanks to members of the global SOBWG community – we could have a new musical movement here. I’m very excited to hear of cover versions, and have had my first offer oif a groupie (if, she says, she can get her zimmer-frame in the back of the van). More songs to follow.

Many thanks, Alistair. I’m now being asked for the chords. I didn’t think it was THAT complicated…

Hi Terence being a SOBWG and self taught to make matter worse… I have worked out some of the chords but now me and my mates want to get it right. Would really appreciate chord structure in full. You help would be greatly appreciated. As a note this song has gone viral in Dunedin NZ lol

I’m writing this while listening to SAD OLD BASTARDS. Can women join the club, even without guitar?

Your plagiarism article got me looking at other stuff by you. If it’s any consolation, I, for one, think you are funny and clever enough to be rich and famous. Maybe you are.

Yes, Joyce, women SOBs are welcome. It’s a HUGE consolation that you think I should be rich and famous. When is the rest of the world going to catch up? Thanks so much for writing.
